Niall McKay is an Emmy award-winning writer and director. He is the director and curator of the Irish Film New York and the co-founder of San Francisco Irish Film Festival and Los Angeles Irish Film Festival. His personal documentary The Bass Player was nominated for a 2010 Irish Film and Television Award. As a writer, McKay’s work has appeared in The New York Times, The Financial Times, Wired Magazine and The Economist. He was a columnist for the Irish Times. He lives in New York.
Marissa Aroy received an Emmy for the documentary “Sikhs in America,” which she produced and directed. She is in post-production on a PBS program on Filipino American history. In 2008, Aroy directed the educational soap opera series “Grand Café. She produced and directed “Little Manila,” for PBS. In 2011, Aroy was awarded a Fulbright to film a narrative short in the Philippines. In 2009, she was named, “One of the Most Influential Filipina Women in the US” by the Filipina Women’s Network. She has managed budgets from $30K-$500K and overseen projects from original conception & development to production, editing and post-production.” by the Filipina Women’s Network.
Johnny Hopkins is an Irish actor, known for film work in features such as; HBO's The Leftovers, and Public Morals as well as films such as Big Words (2013), Burning Blue (2013), Kick-Ass (2010), Surviving Family (2012), Meskada (2010). He has had roles in many TV Shows such as; The Leftovers (2014), Person of Interest (2012), Body Proof (2011), Law and Order SVU and his recurring role on Mercy (2009-2010). Originally from Ballymun, Hopkins studied at The Gaiety School of Acting in Dublin
Fiona Walsh got her start in comedy at the tender age of 10 doing impressions of Frank Spencer!! Since then she’s gone on to perform both here and abroad at Carolines, Gotham, Broadway Comedy Club as well as the International Bar in Dublin, Galway Comedy Festival, St Martin in the Caribbean and Irish Music Cruises. Her solo show Great White American Teeth has toured the east coast and sold out during 1st Irish Festival in 2008. Her short film Erectostop was screened all over as well as at Kilkenny Cat Laughs Festival and won awards at Giggleshorts in Toronto. She and her comedy partner Ann Design have been producing Sundays at Seven at the Irish Arts Center - now in its 11th season and one of NYC’s longest running female-produced comedy shows.
Katie Van B was born in the Bronx in NYC moved to Ireland when she was 3 and grew up in Blanchardstown, Co. Dublin. She studied Media Arts and Irish in DIT before bouncing on to our TV screens presenting Juice on RTE 2 with SInead Kennedy and Stephen Byrne. She likes short shorts, fishnets and hasn’t cleaned her room in a year. But it’s organised clutter.
